I carried her picture around with me, drawing her, tracing her and wondering about her. What lines she carries in her face! And then one night I “got it” and put her face in this mountain. I think she belongs there.

This old farm was tucked into the edge of the forest on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. Decades of resting in the Rain Forest have given the buildings a sense of being in the right place.

My sister took a picture of this wonderful house while she was visiting Kansas. I had a wonderful time doing the storm clouds and adding the picket fence.

Through a whole series of events i Started thinking about the Appalachian Mountains and the women who played music. Although i have never been to the Appalachian Mountains, my family did live there for generations. I thought it would be fun to add a picture of my ancestors to this cabin and pretend that they created music.

There are fewer and fewer of the old rances in Central Oregon. It seems that to preserve them I must put them on canvas so the next generations can enjoy them.

Trail From Condon
Framed

$843.00

Painted in 2008
12 x 16

Oil on Canvas

We have as many rim rocks as we do mountains, so I thought I would “try my hand” at expressing the wonder of them. Since we have people come from around to world to climb them, I thought I would add a couple of climbers. Can you find them?

Jefferson Across the Desert
Framed

$1296.00

Painted in 2009
23 x 13

Oil on Matt Board

What is an artist to do when there is a mountain intent on “getting out” and no canvas to paint it on? Grab a piece of matt board and work the oil into the fiber and walla, a painting is born. This is a view north of us with the vista of the desert leading up to Mt. Jefferson.

Friends of Santa

$747.00
Framed

Painted in 2006
14 x 12

Mixed Oil and Pen and Ink

This friendly little Santa was hiding in my closet, with all of the other Christmas stuff. Sometimes it is great fun to open a closet and discover something that was painted many years ago.

Mixed Oil and Acrylic on Canvas

The Blue Mountains are located east of us in Central Oregon and each new bend in the road presents a vista more beautiful than the last. This is my interpretation of the cragginess of the Rim Rocks.

Cypress On The Shore

This is the sixth and final (I think) in the Hawaii series. I just want to climb this tree and watch the world at play.

Orchard on a Bed of Ferns

SOLD

24 x 20

Oil on Canvas

Painted in 2009

This is the fifth in the Hawaii series, which will be sent to my sister. The delicate structure of a crocus seems to indicate a quiet place to lie down and enjoy the view and the smell.
