Hollyhock Farm
Framed
$1083.00 + shipping 18 x 14 Acrylic on Canvas
Painted in 2004
Because of their profusion of growth, Hollyhocks were planted all over the small family farms. Some were planted to hide waste areas, some were planted just for their beauty.
I fell in love with painting in the fall of 2000. My friend had to drag me to the painting class. I always protested that I did not have an artistic bone in my body but something magical happened when I got that paintbrush in my hand. I have taken many painting classes since and continue to be in love with the art form.
I find that I tend to paint in a series of landscapes, usually painting two or three or perhaps 10 or 12 paintings of the same subject. Mostly I have painted old barns and buildings but am starting to expand into mountains, which I can see from my window and I am finding flowers flowing from my fingers. Most times I just sit back and watch what my hands have to paint and often it is not what my head thought I was going to work on.
